The Church Board has voted to begin Phase 1 of reopening beginning June 7th. To ensure the health and safety of all members, the church board has voted on the following procedures and parameters:
*Temperature checks will be done for all persons before entry (These temperature checks will be done with temperature guns while parishioners are still in their cars). This gives everyone an assurance as they come into worship that we have screened for those who may be symptomatic.
*The Church Board feels that masks are essential to the health and safety of our most vulnerable members. Therefore, masks will be required of all staff and volunteers. It is also highly recommended that everyone else wear a mask during service. You are welcome to bring your own mask for home, but if you do not have one, the church will provide one for you. We understand that masks may not necessarily fully protect the individual wearing the mask. But, please understand that is not why we, the board, ask you to wear them. Masks help to protect others. We are a family and community who loves and protects each other. One of the ways we express that love and protection is to each wear a mask- thereby ensuring that none of us contribute to the spread of COVID-19. As you know, individuals who have COVID-19 can be non-symptomatic, and yet still be very contagious to others. Each of us wearing a mask helps to greatly mitigate the risk so that all people are able to worship with us.
*In accordance with the Texas guidelines, the sanctuary seats will be redistributed to allow for a minimum of 6 feet between individuals and/or different family groups. Seating will also be limited to 25% of our sanctuary capacity (sanctuary capacity is 500).
*In order to help maintain social distancing for all members, we are electing to not congregate in the church foyer. Instead, parishioners are asked to fellowship outside the building (still maintaining the appropriate social distance).
*There will be new procedures for coming into and out of the church building. Families will be ushered in to selected seats. And, after the service, families will be dismissed by rows. These procedures will help to minimize large groups clustering and inadvertently breaking social distancing guidelines.
*For the month of June, there will be no nursery and no preschool or elementary children’s services.
*At this time, all Sunday school classes will continue to meet by Zoom. We will not be hosting in-house Sunday school classes.
*The services may be shortened to keep congregational worship to only around 1 hour of exposure.
Please, fill out the survey below so we can begin planning for the number of people we will need to prepare for in our reopening.
