What is “Budget for Others”?

The Arlington First Church acknowledges that Budget for Others is a sacrificial giving for raising financial support for world evangelism and local outreach.  For our denomination, the World Evangelism Fund is dedicated specifically to the mission support of the Church of the Nazarene through various offerings promoted by the Nazarene Missions International (NMI).  Special offerings go to support local community needs.

  • BUDGET FOR OTHERS   is  NOT  a  pledge.
  • BUDGET FOR OTHERS   is  NOT  tithes.
  • BUDGET FOR OTHERS   is  NOT  a substitute for mission offerings.
  • BUDGET FOR OTHERS  is…
    •  God-inspired and Bible based.
    •  Support to financing world evangelism.
    •  A commitment to give as God provides.
    •  Support to those less fortunate or in need.

The World  Evangelism  Fund was created to allow missionaries to work more effectively and to encourage all churches to support missions.  To accomplish the Great Commission—spreading the gospel and the message of holiness around the world—requires money.  Full-time missionaries (excluding volunteers) in the Church of the Nazarene are employed by the World Mission Department. Each missionary receives a monthly paycheck based on a standard amount plus a cost-of-living adjustment .  Missionaries also receive medical insurance (through the Medical Plan), a pension provision, and other items (such as housing and travel costs).
