Our Ministry Team Leaders have adopted the following policy for convicted sex offenders who wish to attend our church. We believe this policy to be proactive rather than re-active. Our intent is to be redemptive, helpful, and to encourage these individuals that have been convicted of such crimes to find and follow Christ. The consequences of their actions require us to be prudent and careful. We see this policy to be for the protection of everyone.

While it is the designated committee's responsibility to hold these individuals accountable it is also this committee's responsibility to encourage and support these same individuals in living for and serving Christ. This committee should be viewed as spiritual mentors to these individuals.

We believe this follows who we say we are and what we say we are about as a church.

POLICY REGARDING REGISTERED SEXUAL OFFENDERS

Any registered sex offender wishing to attend Arlington First Church of the Nazarene must first identify themselves to the senior pastor and agree in writing to any terms, restrictions, or other requirements placed upon them under this policy.

All registered sexual offenders must meet with a committee, consisting of 3-5 persons designated by the church board, quarterly to review his/her behavior and his/her observance of all terms, restrictions, and requirements. This committee has the power to determine the method of disclosure to the church required of the individual in question.

This person(s) should never be in the children's (under the age of 18 years old) area, or attend any church sponsored children's activities unless they are accompanied by an adult church member at all times.

This individual cannot attend adult classes that are held in the children's area. They are only to use the front/West entrance. They are only to use the restrooms located in the southwest corner of the building while children are present in the building.

This individual should never be walking around the facilities unless accompanied by an adult church member while services, activities and/or events are happening at the church. This individual is never to be in the children's area while the daycare is in operation.

This individual should never approach children, period! While we understand this individual may be approached by a child, he/she should avoid all contact unless accompanied by an adult church member.

The church has the right to limit or deny access from all services, activities, facilities, property and church sponsored events at the sole discretion of the church.
